Getting Photos to your Client

Now, lets say you finished sorting through your loads of photos and need to start getting a product to your client.

You may try to accomplish this in a variety of ways. Most frequently, I like to show my client almost everything. Then you allow them a choice to pick their favorites - to receive in full resolution, to have fully retouched, or whatever it is you are offering with your finished product.

Easy on the Watermarks!

Maybe you have looked at some of my online albums. Particularly those on social networking websites? Notice anything strange? offensive even? Well if it was the size of my watermark (yes, I have been approached by this before) I have an explanation for you.

The Internet world is growing, and there are limited ways for YOU as an artist to protect your work, especially when there is no way to know who, or what you are protecting it from. One social networking site has it in their terms of service agreement that once a photo is uploaded, they are free to use it for whatever means they wish.

Why Blog?

You may be asking yourself who is Chris Gardiner and why bother reading about what he thinks about art? Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you, nor will I take the time to think of a good excuse. What I can tell you, is why I decided to start blogging.

I have loved one form of art or another all my life and have played around with all of them. Photography is such an investment though, so I think once you are into that you don't stop. Hopefully I don't anyways! I pay my bills however working in restaurant and hotel kitchens, and have been doing so for the last 7 years now. Since I started in Kitchens, I always looked at food as art also.

How do you sort through 600 photos?

So, I just had a shoot today. Longest in a while to be honest. When all was said and done, about 5 hours had gone by and when I got home, there was 580 photos to sort through. Sometimes taking a task on like this can feel a bit overwhelming at first, like it did for me. I will break down my workflow for you so you can see how I do it. I'm certain its not the best way, some of my readers may have a better way, but I am also pretty sure its not the worst way to do it either.

The Lowdown: So this was a "Barbie Doll" Inspired shoot largely revolving around the makeup and posing to come across as a doll. Two Different Models, One Location, and I can't even remember how many different outfits and makeup combinations...
