Kelowna Area Photo Op: Chute Lake

I love camping for many reasons. One of them being the spots you find, and the pictures you'll capture at these spots.  After a roadtrip to Osoyoos for an engagement shoot (more on that soon!) we took the road less traveled back to Kelowna, and made camp at Chute Lake.

Here is the current link to the BC Recreation Site about Chute Lake.

We arrived from the south, through Naramata, following the winding Chute Lake Rd until we reached the campsite and lake. It was the weekend, and a little busier than I was expecting.  We arrived to a pretty much setting sun, and no available campsites.   We ended up pitching our tent in a small clearing with a rock fire pit already in place.

Chute lake has a couple hundred meters of elevation on Kelowna, so you can expect it to be a good bit cooler there than in town for the summertime! Hint: remember this place for next summer.
Did I mention it's free?

The campsite was decent, lake was nice, got a couple photos, but I had no idea how cool the view would be on the drive home.   Sure its a view overlooking town, sort of like what you'd get on Knox mountain, but new vantage points mean angles I have shot before, and therefore photos I don't have yet.

Have you ever been to any of the forestry recreation sites found throughout BC? Which is your favourite?
