New Facebook Terms : My Conclusion

You may have seen a post of mine a few weeks back about the new facebook terms, not to mention some talk around the internet regarding them, and if you are really following me there, you might notice that images got smaller, and somehow watermarks got bigger? What is all that about?

Well, I decided to minimize the risk that facebook poses to me, by making the images that are available to facebook marketing, effectively useless for that purpose.

So no more sharing from CGardiner Photography on Facebook? You ask..
hardly! In fact, I am planning to be sharing more, while drawing the crowd away from facebook to my blog, like you maybe have done already to read this.  It will give me a greater control over what I share, how it's presented, and it's almost as convenient!

So just to be clear, I am not protecting my work from yourselves - my viewers, readers and fans, I appreciate your attention, I am protecting it from faceless corporations who are taking advantage of content producers like myself, without intention of any form of compensation.

Something tells me a lot of photographers will be doing something similar to what I have started here, if they haven't already.  Either that, or you're alright with photos being used in paid advertising with no remuneration (or even photo credit) for yourself.
