Picture of the Day : Okanagan Sunset

Okanagan Sunset by Chris Gardiner Photography in Kelowna using Luminosity Blending of Multiple Exposures
Okanagan Sunset in Kelowna this week
This picture of the day might look a little familiar to some others I have shared from the same location.  What I like about this one, is it's the first blended composite I made using luminosity layer masks.  So in other words; switching up my post processing method and tried something new here.

Read on for some more details about how it all worked, and a link to purchase a printed copy if you're interested;

10,000 Page Views

Canada Day Fireworks in kelowna by Chris Gardiner Photography

Thanks for helping me reach that milestone at my blog. 10,000 page views is quite a bit, especially when my average time spent on page is considerably (more than two times!!) longer than for any other space I manage really.

So I will do my best to continue writing content that interests you.

New Gear : Kamerar Slider Dolly : Review and Footage

The Kamerar Slider Dolly SD-1 has been recently added to the arsenal of equipment here at Chris Gardiner Photography.  Quite a fun piece of equipment to play with if you ask me.

There are already a few reviews touching on it online and on youtube, but I made one myself anyways.   So I'll try to keep my review notes point form so theres not too much verbiage for you to wade through.   Also, accompanied by moving pictures - test footage included after the link.  Enjoy!

Picture of the Day : Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls in Columbia River Gorge, Near Portland Oregon by Chris Gardiner Photography

For anyone who has seen these iconic falls, but never been able to put a name to them, this is Multnomah, outside of Portland, Oregon. Nestled in the scenic Columbia River Gorge between Washington and Oregon.

I had the pleasure of visiting this, and many other scenic waterfalls of the Gorge area earlier this year. Just a skip and a hop from the Okanagan I call home.

The Maude Roxby Wetland Boardwalk

On Glidecams : Dynamic Balance and Why You Need It!

So remember how I got a glidecam, and thought I had it balanced pretty well after a couple days?  Well it turns out I only had it very well statically balanced, but when you bring dynamic balance into the equation it wasn't doing so well.   So here's what I learned after copious amounts of online tutorial videos and reading on the subject.    Also, that video above is a quick look at my first two weeks of collecting footage on my glidecam flying my gopro,  I know it's nothing special, but thanks for watching anyways!
